There really is some blue sky above Higher Ferry.
It's definately rain towards Queensferry.

Surprisingly Moel Famau came into view.
Distance: 2.5 miles. Climb: 40'.
Time: 1 hour 15 minutes. On the move walking average: 2.5 m.p.h. Overall walk average: 1.9 m.p.h.
An afternoon start for today's walk as it started to rain late morning after I had arrived home after collecting my meat order from Swans Farm Shop at Treuddyn. I was glad that I had emailed my order as when I arrived at the shop it was very busy, but I was able to go straight to the checkout.
It was still  feeling cold, so thankfully I had changed out of my shorts and put on a fleece. However as I was approaching Saltney Ferry Footbridge along the Riverside Path, I could see the rain coming in from the direction of Hope Mountain. Not only did it rain, it hailed as well. I was briefly sheltered by the high hedge next to the Riverside Path, but as soon as I reached Flint Road, I was heading straight into the rain - never a good option when you wear spectacles.
Not many birds around, but I did get, probably one of my best views of a singing Chiffchaff.
Birds seen or heard today included: House sparrow, Common blackbird, Greenfinch, Black billed magpie, Common whitethroat, Black headed gull, Lesser black back gull, Goldfinch, Chiffchaff, Collared dove, Common starling and Barn swallow.
Only one butterfly today, an Orange tip.
it was good to get out and stretch my legs, but i wasn't sorry to get home into the comfort of my warm and dry home
