Distance: 2.6 miles. Climb: 70'
Time: 1 hour 28 minutes. On the move walking average: 2.5 m.p.h. Overall walk average: 1.7 m.p.h.
After returning from my visit to the supermarket, the weather didn't look too bad, so I decided to set off on my daily walk before the rain came in. Thankfully it didn't rain until a couple of hours after I had returned. However there was a cool breeze, so I was grateful that I was wearing my lightweight fleece. I was wearing a sunhat for most of the time, but I was conscious that a gust of wind might remove if I wasn't careful.
Hedges and trees pretty well in their finest greenery, makes actually seeing many of the birds that you hear.  However the Common whitethroat and Greenfinch usualy oblige, in fact both seem to like the same singing post by the riverside Today they took it in turns to use it.
Although Barn swallows and House martins were seen hunting insects by the river and along the hedges, the temperature didn't feel like Summer that their presence usually heralds.
Not many seemed to be out walking today, although I did see the couple walking their collie dog that I see on most days .
Birds seen or heard today included: House sparrow, Goldfinch, Chiffchaff, Barn swallow, Collared dove, Woodpigeon, Common starling, European robin, Common chaffinch, Black billed magpie, House martin, Herring gull, Carrion crow, Lesser black back gull, Mallard, Greenfinch, Blackcap, Great tit,Blue tit and Feral pigeon (I usually forget to include this one. Am I being predudice just because its feral?)
It made a change doing this walk in a clockwise direction - I don't know why but I usually do walk in a particular way out of habit I suppose.
