The weather today was too good to stay indoors, so I decided to walk from home to Shotton along the river on the Wales Coastal Path.
This was a really pleasant and enjoyable walk, mainly in sunshine with welcome intermittent cloud cover enabling me to take off my sun hat allowing the breeze to cool my head.
Most of the time, the surface of the water in the river was so calm/flat that reflections could be seen.
Not as many cyclist today and pleasing to note, 90% of them cycling with care and some even using their bells and acknowledging you as they went past.
Only three runners, two dog walkers and one walker were out this morning.
The only other people I saw were waiting on Shotton Station platform waiting for trains in both directions.
Birds seen or heard today included: House sparrow, House martin, Carion crow, Rook, Common kestrel, Lapwing, Goldfinch, Woodpigeon, Great cormorant, Grey Heron, Little egret, Herring gull, Lesser black back gull, Black headed gull, Greylag goose, Little egret, Barn swallow, Common blackbird and Mallard.
A good full traditioal breakfast with coffee was enjoyed at The Central Hotel in Shotton before catching the bus home.
