The weather looked pretty good, so I decided to head to West Kirby Marine Lake in search of the Scaup that I didn't spot on my last two visits.  It was third time lucky for me, and I had some superb views of the Scaup, probably my best views ever!
In addition, I had good views of both Red breasted mergansers and Goosanders.
I decided not to go around the Marine Lake, and instead headed for RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands NR in the hope of seeing an Otter.
No luck this time, but the draw of the Otter was evident, with the NR much busier than usual!
Birds seen or heard today included: Common redshank, Herring gull, House sparrow, Red breasted merganser, Goosander, Scaup (my bird of the year so far), Goldeneye, Great cormorant, Teal, Tufted duck, Moorhen, Mallard, Greylag goose, Canada goose, Shelduck, Shoveler, Black tailed godwit, Common coot, Blue tit, Great tit, Long tailed tit, Woodpigeon, Eurasian curlew, European robin, Dunnock, Common chaffinch, Carrion crow and Common pheasant.
