I hope we don't meet a horse rider!
Better than a garden gnome, but there was a tiger and lion as well!
How many goslings?
Another chance to count the goslings.

It felt slightly cooler than recently as we set off, but this made it very pleasant for walking, especially as we started the walk on a gentle climb to Pen-y-pigyn (DS’s first objective of the day.
After visiting Pen-y-pigyn with it superb views across Corwen toward Caer Drewyn, we explored a few more tracks / paths through the forest to Bryn Saint on the way to Llangar Church.
Our surprise of the day was coming face to face with a horse rider on a rather narrow path, but after engaging with the usual pleasantries with the rider, we were able to pass each other without the horse showing any distress!
We arrived at Llangar a little early for lunch, so we decided to complete the riverside loop towards Cynwyd arriving back at the church 40 minutes later.
After lunch we arrived at Pont Conwy and decided not to explore a new path, but carry on along the river as usual (I think spotting a herd of cows in the field ahead of us next to the path had something to do with the decision!)
As we approach Trewyn Fawr we had a decision to make, Mike decide to visit the summit of Caer Drewyn and the rest of us decided to a path on an old railway track towards the Leisure Centre.
It was a good job we did as we ended up having to assist a man on his mobility scooter that had got into difficulties, not once but twice. How he would have coped when his mobility scooter tipped over and left this one legged man on the floor. Thankfully God had prompted me to suggest this mini-extension.
Birds seen or heard today included: Woodpigeon Stonechat, Willow warbler, Common pheasant, Mallard, Barn swallow, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Mute swan, Common blackbird, Goldfinch, Cuckoo, Canada goose, Blue tit, Great tit, Jackdaw, Carrion crow and Goosander.
After walk drinks were enjoyed at the Bridge Inn at Pontybodkin, where a new brew turncoat by Weetwood went down very well.
Overall very enjoyable walk with a variation I will do again.
