Today gave us the opportunity to visit Eddisbury Hillfort, essentially folowing the route followed by most of the group on 21st December 2022.
Howevr we did vary it slightly, initially taking a forest path heading toward King'rs Chair that took us directly to the Stoney Lane path we wanted. This was a delightful, one I will use again in the future.
Along Stoney Lane, we stopped to talk with a local residence (at least 77 years old, because that was when he started to climb!). He was standing outside his "Man Shed", and we leaned was a Newcastle United fan, had done triathons, fell running, belonged to indoor climbing centres and his daughter was married to a blind paraclimber who represented GB.  Half an hour later we managed to escape and continue on our walk.
We explored both sides of Eddisbury Hillfort, before eventually heading for Pale Heights and the time to join the happy throngs enjoying Delamere Forest.
We ended up having lunch on a seat at the north western end of Blakemere Moss, where we frequently visiteed by friendly dogs, hoping we offer them some form of tasty morsel. They all sent away disappointed.
It was good to see so many young people, families, even with pushchairs enjoying walking in Delamere Forest.
After lunch we only a just over two miles to go to get back to the cars, but this turned out to be to our liking as the wet stuff started to get more persistent, but not enough to make we take out my Paramo jacket and put it on!
Birds seen or heard today included: Blue tit, Song thrush, Common blackbird, Great tit, European robin, Rook, Carrion crow, Wood nuthatch, Black billed magpie, Woodpigeon, Long tailed tit.
We arived back at the car, having had an enjoyabe, but shorter than usual walk than expected, and now ready for some liquid refreshment.
We headed for the Stamford Bridge Country Inn, where Mike enjoyed again Hydes, Lowry bitter and I had another excellent pot of tea. Hopefully one day soon I will  sample thcis brew too!
