Clip yr Orsedd and The Druids' Circle from Llanfairfechan Promenade 11th February 2023

Off we go along Llanfairfechan Promenade.
Some people are always looking for a sit down!
Puffin Island and the quarry owned by a BJ supprrter.
On Clip yr Orsedd, but someone is missing.
He was down below having a rest!
At the Druids' Circle - time for another rest!
At the Druid's Stone Circle.

Lunch, but it's only the Murphys talking to each other!
The Memorial to Americans that crashed their plane on this spot.
The first ponies that we have seen together,
"I don't like the look of that lot!2
or
"Wait for me !".
A Red kite - bird of the day.
It isn't easy trying to follow a Red kite hunting, when all you have is a point and shoot camera!

The Murphys and more on 21st October 2009 on a Cwm Dulas, Cefn yr Ogof and Gop Wood Walk.
Walk stats:
Distance: 8.5 miles. Climb: 1703' Wind assisted GPS reading.
Time: 4 hours 55 minutes. On the move walking average: 2.1 m.p.h. Overall walk average: 1.7 m.p.h.
Temperature: 8.7 Celsiu - 10.7Celsius.
Beaufort Wind Force: 0 - 3. Gusting at mosrt to a gentle breeze. At times we were shelterted from any wind, experience the wind gusting as we climbed over Clip yr Orsedd and later as we heading along the North Wales Path towards Llanfairfechan.
We started our walk today at the Llanfairfechan Promenade Car Park - currently in desparate need of resurfacing to fill the hundreds of pot holes that present a challenge for all drivers.
This was the second ime that we have started this walk from this car park, but today we managed to locate the right minor road that led to the Wales Coastal Path that we wanted.
Distant viewws weren't at their crispest, but we did eventually decide which was Holyhead Mountain on the skyline.
After visiting the Druids's Circle, two members of the group persuded me the best place for lunch was the "wind shelter" near the "Fairy Glen" footpath.
As half he group had not done this wal.k before, we made a small extenstion to visit the memorial site of an American aeroplane that crashed there in February 1944.
Throughout the alk we had seen lots of Carnedday ponies, bit they all seeme quite a long way from each other. It was only as we descended to Nant y Pandy Valley that we saw  small group together.
It was just after this that had the delightful exerience of a Red kite hunting over the hillside, Definatle the bird of the day, although we did hear a couple Red billed choughs calling as they flew over the road towards fields.
Birds seen or heard today included: Mute swan, Mallard, Oystercatcher,European robin, Carrion crow, Jackdaw, Black billed magpie, Blue tit, Great tit, Herring gull, Collared dove, Red billed chough and Red kite.
We arrived back at the car park to find it's popularity had increased! Were these all dog walkers are had they all just come to cafe for a coffee as they enjoyed the view acoss the straights to Anglesey?
As  for us all those not driving wanted to head for the Albion in Conwy for a pint ot two of real ale. For the driver cola and lemonadfe and crisps doesn't sound quite so attactive!
I ended up heading straight home and enjoyed my usual cup of tea with a little whisky added!
Overall an enjoyable walk, but it always is.
