The new Miners Bridge near Swallow Falls.
Looking towards Bets-y-coed from the Miners Bridge. The view southward from Sarn Helen as we started to decend into the Lledr Valley.
Foxgloves next to Sarn Helen.
The Afon Llugwy at Pont y Pant.
A bee visiting a Welsh poppy.
Surprisingly people were on the precarious Miners walkway.
Crossing the bidge over the Afon Lledr near the Pont-Gethin viaduct.
A convenient resting spot near the south east end of Llyn Elsi.
Trying out a pershing seat.
A closer look at the perching seat - but how does it work?
(the seat does swing upwards a littl.)
A sign to encourage you on the way to llyn Elsi.

Arriving at Pont-y-Pair, the Afon Llugw appeared to be in spate, and the noise of the water crashing over the rocks was so loud you could hardly hear youself speak.
It started to rain as we approached the Mines Bridge, enough for some of the group put on a waterproof jacket or put their umbrella up. Thankfully I resisted anb the time we reached the Miners Bridge it had stopped.
this ws the first time that some of had crossed the new Miners Bridge, a much sturdier one than the original. It had proper steps making it easier t descend than the original one.
The brief shower and warm temperature made it very humid as we climbed up Sarn Helen. What a relief it was to get out into more open territory an feel the cooling breeze on our faces.
Lunch was take on the riverside after Lledr Hall, where we took advantage of a stone wall as a suitable perching spot.
There was plenty of water flowing in the Afon Lledr.
The surprise of the day was seeing a group of people (roped up) traversing the Miners Walkway on the north side of the river.
The final climb through the forest to the dam at the southern end of Llyn Elsi wasn't as bad as I remembered and my boots didn't get that muddy.
Birds seen or heard included : Winter wren, Common Buzzard, Grey wagtail, Whinchat, Wood nuthatch, Common blackbird, European robin and Herring gull.
Arriving back at Betws-y-coed, we found it living up to being a top tourist attraction.
A good walk, all we needed now was a good refreshing pint of beer.
We ended up having a drink in the Eagle Hotel in llanrwst. The two real ales on offer were brewed at Bragdy Nant at Llanrwst. One 3.7 % beer was Ok, but the 4.2 % bitter wasn't to my liking.
