A Riverside Walk In Search of a grey bird with an eight inch neck 15th January 2021

A Riverside Walk In Search of a mystery grey bird with an "eight inch neck".
Not that way today.
It's this way and time to head for the Higher Ferry / Saltney Ferry Footbridge.
Distance: 10.0 miles. Climb: 203'.
Time: 3 hours 36 minutes. On the move walking average: 3.0 m.p.h. Overall walk aveage: 2.7 m.p.h.
Group: Martyn.
A dry, overcast and cold day, but OK for walking. Plenty of people out and about, but not that many cyclists.
No sign of the mystery grey bird unless it was the female Goosander swimming next to a male Goosander!
No sign of the Kingfisher today either and birds of prey must have been having a lay in today as well.
Seeing the three male Goosanders and two female Goosanders was probably the best spot today, but a pair of Ravens on a pylon next to the Wales Coast Path came a close second.
Overall an enjoyable walk, celebratedwith a fortified cup of tea at home as I watched the cricket highlights on TV.
Birds seen or heard today included: Mallard, Moorhen, Collared dove, Common blackbird, European robin, Winter wren, Goldfinch, Blue tit, Great tit, House sparrow, Teal, Goosander, Grey heron, Great cormorant, Black headed gull, Litte grebe, Woodigeon, Black billed ,magpie, Jackdaw, Carrion crow, Raven, Fieldfare, Redwing, Common starling, Common chaffinch and Feral pigeon.
