Just after setting off, it startd to rain, just enough for me to put up my umbrella and the rest of the group rush to put on waterproof jackets. Thankfully it stopped within about ten minutes and the rest of the day it was largely sunny and at times somewhat humid.
The spot of the day was a Brown hare that Sue pointed out as it raced to the far side of the field. A good number of rabbits were seen today as well.
Birds seen or heard today included; Yellow hammer, Woodpigeon, Barn swallow,House martin, Skylark, Carion crow, Common buzzard, Common kestrel, Jackdaw, Chaffinch, Chiffchaff, Common blackbird, European robin, Winter wren, House sparrow and Black billed magpie.
Lunch was taken on the top of Y Graig where we made good use of the two picnic tables.
Distant views were quite good, although it looked as though the very high tops in Snowdonia were in cloud.
Mike and Nigel decided to include the St. Bueno's College part of the descrbed route, but the rest of us missed it out and too the more drect option back to the cars.
After walk drinks were enjoyed at the Blubell Inn at Halkyn, where the Lees Bitter was excellent.
