Another Saltney Ferry - Roodee Circuit.
Mallards on Balderton Brook.
More Mallards on Balderton Brook.
Not many playing golf today, at least not on this part of the course.
Crossing the footbridge to the Roodee.
A Grey heron north of Crane Wharf.
The second Grey heron opposite the Sealand Road Sewage Plant.
Saltney Quay from the Dee Coast Path.
Moel famau again.
Two young Barn swallows having a rest.
Looking back from the Saltney Ferry Footbridge towards where I had earlier been walking.
Distance: 6.9 miles. Climb: 142'.
Time:  2 hours 45 minutes. On the move walking average: 2.8 m.p.h. Overall walk average: 2.5 m.p.h.
After a couple of hours painting a floor and a shleving unit in my "freezer" room, I was ready to set off on my daily walk just before 10-00 a.m.  Another good day for walking, pleasantly warm, although the temperature did get a little uncomfortable in the last half a mile.
Approaching the Riverside on River Lane, a Police car approached me and slowed down taking a careful look towards me. He didn't stop, so what what he was looking for remains a mystery.
Not many walkers on the outward journey, just a couple of dog walkers and no bikes. Chester Golf Course seemed bereft of golfers, although their car park had plenty of cars.
However ariving at the Dee Coast Path from The Cop on Sealand Road,, it started to change. Now there were lots of walkers, very few dog walkers and lots of bikers. Most of those on bikes were not the lycra loony racing brigade, just people, often family groups on a gentle bike ride out. However some of them still behave in a way that "social distancing at 2 metres" dos not apply to them as they pass walkers.
Birds seen or heard today include: Mallard, Goldfinch, Moorhen, Blue tit, Chiffchaff, Common whitethroat, Jackdaw, Carrion crow, Black billed magpie, Raven, winter wren, Woodpigeon, Housesparrow, Great cormorant, Black headed gull, Lesser black back gull, Herring gull, Grey heron, Greenfinch, Barn swallow, House martin and Common buzzard.
An enjoyable walk, arriving home to find that the all my earlier paintwork had dried.
