A Riverside Walk, Including Roger's Return.
St. Mark's Church, Saltney - a good place to meet.
Time for refreshment on the Riverside Path, north of Saltney Quay.
Looking down from the footbridge on to the path through the Dingle.
Saltney Quay from the Dee Coastal Path.
Some Rabits are out early today.
Looking along the Wales Coast Path towards Chester.
Distance: 9.3 miles. Climb: 200'.
Time: 3 hours 40 minutes. On the move walking average: 2.9 m.p.h. Overall walk average: 2.5 m.p.h.
An early start for me today, but not for walking, by 08-00 I had finished painting the side gate and was ready to relax with a cup of tea.
i didn't set off for my walk until 13-30, and headed to St. Mark's Church in Saltney, where Roger was going to join me for part of the walk. roger joined me on the part of the walk on the path from Mount Pleasant leading to Saltney Quay and the Riverside Path along the north west side of Chester Golf Course.
We departed at Earlsway, Roger headed home ad I headed to the market in search of White pudding. Failed again, no delivery today, hopefully on Wednesday.
Town was pretty busy, even Tesco had queues at the tills.
My usual walk along the Dee Coastal Path / Wales Coast Path, seemed longer than ever as the humidy increased and the temperature rose.
Plenty of bikes out, and today it was cyclists in pairs that were the greates pain as they cycled side by side talking but failing to pass walkers leaving any distance at all.
Birds seen or heard today included: House martin, Common swift, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Common whitethroat, Common blakbird, Goldfinch, Mallard, Jackdaw, Woodpigeon, Oystercather, Black headed gull, Lesser black back gull, Herring gull, Moorhen and Barn swallow.
I was glad to get home, remove my socks and let my hot feet feel the cooling air round them. I glass of still cider went down well as well.
