When? Started: 1993 Who? Started with staff and friends from U H S, Chester. Organiser: Martyn Harris We walk every Wednesday and Saturdays, New Years day and May Day. How many walk? Walks take place as long as there are at least 2 wanting to walk on that day. More walk on a Wednesday than on a Saturday. Most ever: 29. Current group size walking: 2-7 in mid-week and 2-4 on Saturday. Where do we walk? Saturday: Anywhere in North and Mid-Wales, Peak District, Shropshire and the Long Mynd and as far North as the Trough of Bowland. Thursday: Anywhere within about 40 miles of Chester. Type of walk: Distance: 6 – 14 miles (but usually under 10 miles). Climb: up to 4000’ (but usually very much less!). Dates and Walks January 2021.


Looking back to 2020, I was surprised to find that I had been on 43 walks with other members of the group, covering 341 miles.
However in all I did over 150 solo walks covering 940 miles.
Unfortunately both England and Wales current "stay at home" lockdown rules prevent us all from walking as a group.
 It looks as though I will be walking solo from home for the forseeable future, getting to know my local surrounds.
Although the Chester members will be doing likewise, it does look as though they can meet up with one other person on thier exploration of paths nearby.
Hopefully it won't be too long into 2021 before group walks on both sides of the border can resume.
